Ayanda MVP can simply be described as someone that is ‘happy, eccentric and active’. She is also known for being a radio personality on 947 radio station and being a hip-hop DJ. Looking for good music and food on a Sunday afternoon, you can catch Ayanda hosting her #MVPSundays at Rockets Bryanston.

 

 What currently inspires Ayanda MVP’sDJ mixes?

Newschool music all the way! I love what young artist are offering right now and I enjoy showcasing talent both local and international

Exciting to hear your partnership with Rockets Bryanston, could you tell us more about how did that relationship came about?

Rockets Bryanston has always given djs and artists the opportunity to grow their following and in that making sure the music in SA is supported. It was not difficult to tell them about my idea for MVP Sundays and how I wanted to give newschool artists a platform to be heard.

What should one expect to hear or experience at one of your #MVPSundays?

#MVPSundays is an afternoon musical vibe of TrapSoul Newschool RNB and alternative sounds set up at Rockets Bryanston’s rooftop from 1-7pm. #MVPSundays also features live performances from local new school artists. So far we’ve had the likes of “Moshpit Cindy, Riky Tyler, Benny Chill and Manana to name a few.

With being a Radio personality, Voice over artist and Hip-Hop DJ. What would you say is your goal within the music scene?

To grow listeners music library. I want people to know new music so we’re not always playing the same old songs. Also to help give new school artist that have great music the platform to be heard, on radio or when I am on the decks molifeng.
With 2021 just around the corner, what else can fans expect from you in the new year and beyond?
One thing 2020 has taught all of us is that life can be unpredictable, so before I disclose what is in store for you from me AyandaMVP, you’ll just have to watch this space LOL

 

How would you rate your current set-in comparison to the first time you played for Sportscene
Radio?
Very similar actually. I had many high energy trap songs that really compliment the Sportscene
stores nationwide and of course the new music from the past three months

What inspired your latest mix, for Sportscene Radio?

Definitely the festive season and the mindset of radiating positive energy of not giving up. I really
wanted my mix to remind customers the vibes still exist in 2020 with the MUSIC
