LORDKEZ, HAILS FROM KIMBERLEY, NORTHERN CAPE AND IN 2019 WAS SELECTED AS AN APPLE MUSIC “FAVOURITE NEW ARTIST” FOR HER DEBUT EP TITLED “REVENGE SEASON” WHICH DROPPED ACROSS ALL DIGITAL PLATFORMS WORLDWIDE.

Musicians like lordkez are rare. She’s got a mystical sound, but certainly does not like to be boxed into any genre that limits her creative freedom. When watching her interview with sportscene and adidas – keep in mind that the persona you see in front of you can be bubbly the one minute and dark and mysterious at the next, as the artist describes that “lordkez” is her alter ego , and she can change at any given time. Following her debut EP ‘Revenge Season’ and her performance at Cotton Fest, we took some time to make sure we catch up with the WAE singer (she’s also recently dropped the visuals for this track) to find out more about what inspires her sound, creativity and what 2020 holds for her. Follow her on Instagram @lordkez (lower case, one word, as she’ll have you know in her bio).

LORDKEZ IS FAST BECOMING ONE OF THE MOST PROMINENT VOICES ON THE “COME UP” SCENE IN SOUTH AFRICA.

The multifaceted vocalist was raised mostly by her strong independent mother, whom she credits for the majority of her life’s inspiration. She was afforded the privilege to attend high school in Abu Dhabi, where she experienced a variety of cultures, religions & people. As a result, her music has multiple layers. She is known to push the boundaries with soulful vocals telling stories of love & pain over an acoustic guitar or piano keys. She loves to bring across stories of regret, passion, anger, pain and ambition whilst digging deep into darker trap.

Songs released by lordkez include WAE (When it All Ends), Disgusting, Faded, Vendetta and No Pulse. Check out her playlist on YouTube here
